How Long Can an AI Video Be?
AI video clips run 5, 10 or 15 seconds on Animator Hub and take about 2 to 6 minutes to render. Measured times by length and resolution, and how to make longer videos.
Short answer: most AI video generators make clips of 5 to 15 seconds per generation. On Animator Hub you choose 5, 10 or 15 seconds, and a clip takes about 2 to 6 minutes to render depending on its length. Longer videos are made by extending a clip or joining several clips.
How long does it take to generate an AI video?
Measured on Animator Hub over 14 days of completed renders in late October and early November 2026 (median wait, with the slowest 10% in brackets):
| Clip length | 720p | 1080p |
|---|---|---|
| 5 seconds | about 2.5 minutes (4 minutes) | about 3 minutes (5 minutes) |
| 10 seconds | about 4 minutes (13 minutes) | about 4.5 minutes (6 minutes) |
| 15 seconds | about 6 minutes (10 minutes) | about 6 minutes (8 minutes) |
Time grows with length because the model has to generate every frame. Busy hours add a little queue time. You can leave the page while it renders; the finished clip appears in My videos.
Why are AI videos so short?
Video models generate all frames of a clip together. The longer the clip, the more memory and time each generation needs, and the more likely the subject is to drift: faces change, hands multiply, the scene wanders. A 5 to 15 second clip is the length where current models stay consistent.
How to make a longer AI video
- Extend a clip. Use the video extender to continue a clip from its last frame, up to 15 seconds in total.
- Chain clips. Generate the next scene from the last frame of the previous clip with image to video, so the person and the room carry over, then join the clips in any video editor.
- Keep the prompt stable. Describe the same person, clothes and setting in every clip, and change only the action. See how to avoid face drift.
What does it cost?
Video costs 1 credit per second at 720p and twice that at 1080p, so a 10 second clip is 10 or 20 credits. Credits come in packs of 100 for $30, 500 for $125 and 1,000 for $200, with no subscription required.
